Note : All tourists have to register with the local police within a week of their arrival. Most hotels will take care of this for you for a small fee. If you are travelling with a tour group it is likely you will not even be aware of this formality.
Cairo :
Cairo the capital city of Egypt is the 13th largest city in the world with a population of over 18 million people. The best time to visit Cairo are between November and April. Cairo is a mix of the old with the new city. A Trip to Cairo is incomplete without a visit to the Great Pyramids and the famous Khan El Khalili bazaar.
Luxor :
Luxor has a lot to offer the traveller, from vast temples, to ancient royal tombs, via spectacular desert and river scenery and a bustling modern life. The major source of the income of the city comes from the tourism industry.
Temples of Karnak, believed to be largest surviving religious complex in the world, are located towards the north of Luxor.
Valley of the Kings is one of the most remarkable archaeological destinations in the world where the pharaohs were buried after their death in hope to meet the gods in their afterlife journey.
Aswan :
Aswan, lying on the eastern bank of the River Nile and is a major tourist attraction of the South of Egypt. Is the third largest city of Egypt and is one of the driest inhabited places in the world; as of early 2001, the last rain there was six years earlier.
The Aswan Dam, Elephant Island, Philae Temple are a few of the places that are worth exploring.
The High Dam is a known worldwide as an engineering marvel. Built in the1960s, it produces electricity and provides water for irrigation to entire Egypt together with the Aswan Dam, which is 6 km downstream.
